Robert William Webdale

The funeral of Mr. Robert William Webdale (69), The Bungalow, Sheffield Road. Conisborough, who died suddenly while visiting his brother, Mr. A. Webdale, Park Road, took place at Conisborough last Thursday, the Rev. W. Raby officiating.

Webdale was a native of Norfolk and moved to Conisborough 58 years ago. At the age of 11 he began work at the Old Denaby bone mill, and three years later went to the local glassworks where he worked for 24 years.

Later he worked for 20 years at Cadeby Colliery and retired under the Mutual Help Fund. During retirement he took great interest in poultry farming.

The mourners were the widow. Mr. and Mrs. S. Webdale, son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. W. Percival, Mr. and Mrs. F. Ratcliffe (daughters and sons- in-law). Mrs. H. Webdale (daughter-in-law). Mr. A. Webdale (brother). Mr. and Mrs. C. Webdale, Doncaster (nephew). Mr. J. Swift. Braithwell (son-in-law). Miss Marjorie Percival and Miss Dolly Radcliffe (grandchildren). Floral tributes were sent by Mrs. Webdale and family, Mr. and Mrs. Percival, Mrs. H. Webdale, Mr. and Mrs. C. Webdale and Mr. J. Swift. Greathead Bros., had charge of the arrangements.
