Obstructing the Footpath at Conisborough

Wilding, Andrew Welsh, Thomas Kilgallon, James Cairns, Samuel Davies, and John Miller, all fillers, of New Conisborough, were charged with obstructing the footpath by standing thereon at Conisborough, on the 26 May.

In the case of the first three defendants PC Wales stated that he was on duty in Doncaster Road, New Conisborough, at 1:25 PM on the date in question, with PC Jenkins, and saw the defendant stand upon the footpath near Whittaker’s pawn shop. They saw 17 person leave the footpath because of the defendants obstruction.

PC Jenkins calibrated.

The evidence given by PC Jenkins in the case of the last three defendants was similar to the evidence of the free previous defendants.

Wilding, who appeared, was ordered to pay the costs 4/–, and the other five defendants were fined 2/6 and the costs.
