Denaby Utd – Denaby’s Position Needs Drastic Action – 16 Matches Without a Win

Denaby’s Position Needs Drastic Action.

16 matches without a win. That’s Denaby United sad record as something drastic is going to have that happen at Tickhill Square is the team had to get away from the bottom of the league, which had been their unenviable property for almost a season and a half, virtually without a break.

Getting off the foot of the table means more to Denaby than finishing the season in a respectable position.

It could make the difference between carrying on resigning from the Midland League next season. It is all too obvious, Denaby, or any other team for that matter, cannot go on in the way they are doing.

Their play this season seems to be following much the same pattern as last. They set up playing well, if not picking up the points they could have had, and gradually become more and more disheartening with every match, until the object of their play seems to be limited to keep in the opposing sides total down to as few as possible.

Few Goals.

In their first half-dozen matches this season they have scored 10 goals. In their last nine games they have managed only six. The centre forward position had become the hotspot, half a dozen men have been tried, without managing to score that many goals between them.

Latest holder of the position is Derek Cox, a left winger, who has previously made only one appearance in the past five weeks.
