One Off – One On
At the foot of Conisbrough crags, no match – at a ground 300 yards away a match was begun and finished
This was the strange result of the vagaries of Saturday’s fog.
Denaby United’s home game with Gainsborough Trinity Tickhill Square was cancelled 35 minutes before it was due to begin; Denaby Tom Hill Youth club, who is crowned as an altitude advantage over United’s ground, were able to play their Doncaster senior league game with Grimethorpe Welfare.
This Cragside ground is so high that it often gives an illusion, when looking from the main stand at Tickhill Square, that junior matches have been played on the roof of Denaby’s Conanby-side stand.
