Park Road Robbery.

Between the hours of 6 and ‘9 on Saturday evening an entrance was effected by means of breaking a window at the rear of the house of Mr. Arthur Drabble, “Pendine,” Park Road, Conisborough.

Mr. Drabble pulled up his car outside his residence, and Mrs. Drabble and her young daughter went into the house. They found one room in disorder, drawers having been ransacked and their contents strewn about.

The police were summoned, and it was found that £17 was missing from a tobacco pouch left in a bureau drawer. In the drawer below, which was also gone through, were two money boxes belonging to a child, but the contents were Intact. The desk had been searched, but nothing of value was missing. A note and some money placed above the sideboard was untouched. A partly consumed bottle of sherry was finished off. Two motor-cycle racing trophies, a large silver bowl, and a smaller cup were not touched.

Fortunately Mr. Drabble, who is a member of the confectionery firm of J. Drabble and Sons, had with him the money he had collected during the day.
