Tim Peters, is Denaby United’s 12th man, and has been for a number of season s. He probably plays often than most regular members of the side, and, and is by far the most serviceable player the Denaby club has ever had. His record is probably unique.

He is still in the very green 30s, but it is 17 years since he first turned out in a Denaby shirt, since when he has used no other.

For 17 season’s (barring the war break), Tim has been at the beck and call of Denaby, and has fought for them in good report and ill, in fair weather and fowl, in degradation and triumph.

He is the soul of loyalty to his club, has never given them a moments uneasiness, and is one of the most sterling comrades a play could take the field with.

Many a scrape Tim has been through and in nine cases out of 10 it was all on account of a pal. Tim is not a genius, but at his best plays a workmanlike game, with no fancy work. His methods are very direct, sometimes very robust, and they pay.

He is a thoroughly good fellow, a sound wing half, with more stamina than speed, and apparently there is any amount of good football left in him
