Pit Boys Strike After Summonses

The trouble at Denaby Main Colliery  spread further yesterday when only a  dozen of the haulage hands on the  morning shift turned for work, with  the result that about men had  return home.

This means that all the shifts at the colliery are now involved in the dispute,  and men are affected.

The boys’ latest action follows the issuing during the week-end of summonses  by the colliery company  against about 80 of the haulage hands  for alleged breach of contract.
