Pit’s Closed for Easter

The Easter holidays in the Doncaster district collieries will begin on Thursday night arid extend to the night shift the following uesday.

Owing to the general depression in the coal industry, Denaby and Cadeby pits are to be closed at Easter from to-morrow night until the following Thursday. Some thousands of men are affected.

Those are longer holidays than last Easter or those of Leger week.

Conisborough Parish Church Mothers’ Union have this year collected 2,840 eggs for the local hospitals, which a record for the district.

At Bolton-on-Dearne 850 wore collected and forwarded Mexborough Montagu Hospital.
