Points Win for Joyce

Tommy Joyce, the Conisbrough amateur boxer, started the season well, when at a promotion at Derby by the Derbyshire Sporting Club he scored a most convincing points win.

His opponent, the Midland County’s lightweight champion, Peter Salt, was never, at any time, able to master the speed and accuracy of the Northern Counties champion stop

Joyce dictated the bow from the start the capacity crowd were very appreciative of the skill shown by this young prospect, who is in big demand for tournaments north and south of the country.
