Police Court Briefs
For obtaining £6 for false-pretences from the Don Valley Public Assistance Committee, Albert Oldfield, an Edlington miner, was sent to prison for a month at Doncaster on Saturday.
At Doncaster on Saturday, Harry Gibson, newsagent, Conisborough, was fined 10s.for having employed a boy aged 14, in street trading. Gibson said he employed the boy under a misapprehension.
Laura Peck, married, and William Shaw, builder, both of Old Denaby, were summoned at Doncaster on Saturday for failing to keep dangerous dogs under control, and were ordered to pay 17s 6d each costs.
The following fines were imposed at Doncaster on Tuesday;
Obscene language, Gomer Lewis Morgan, miner, Denaby, 6s and Matthew Christopher Noble, miner, Denaby 20s;
Dog at large at night, Herbert West, coal dealer, Mexborough, 10s;
Bicycle unlawful tow by motor lorry, William Redfern, labourer, Conisborough, 10s.
