Farewell Gifts at Denaby.

The popularity which Mr. H. C. Harrison has enjoyed as manager of Denaby, Cadeby and Maltby Main Collieries, among his fellow officials, and also among the workmen, was shown in remarkable tribute paid to him Saturday night, when about 2,000 miners, their wives, and the officials of three collieries, made farewell gifts him.

Mr. Harrison is leaving the Company to take appointment in Spain, after nearly 13 years service with the miners of Denaby and Cadeby.

He and Mrs. Harrison wore made presentations Major J. Leslie, managing directors the Denaby, Cadeby and Maltby Main Collieries, the directors, officials and workmen of the collieries, the total subscribed being £232. Mr. Harrison received a silver tray, cheque, and silver cigarette case, the last behalf the Denaby Home Coal Parting Committee, by Mr. Herbert Smith, President of the Miners’ Federation.

Mrs Harrison received a dressing case with gold-backed toilet set.

Mr. and Mrs. Harrison wore greeted with cheers from the crowded audience. There was a formidable list of speakers.
