Postmistress Dies
Mrs. I. M. Dobson, Postmistress, died on Friday at the age of 49.
Born in Canada, Mrs. Dobson came to this country in her youth to reside at Wickersley where her father, Mr. Barah was postmaster. Mr. Barah was later transferred to Conisbrough when Mr. Allport retired.
Mrs. Dobson succeeded her father at the Conisbrough office 21 years ago. She was of a retiring nature, and took little part in public affairs and, although it has been known that she was seriously ill, her death at such an early age has come of a great shock.
The funeral took place on Tuesday at the Sheffield Crematorium, and the ashes will be interred at Shiregreen Cemetery.
