Potato Patch Theft
In Conisborough Farmers Field
Mr. Geoffrey H. Ogley, farmer of Hilltop House farm, Conisborough has being so busy with the harvest over the past fortnight that he did not have time to look at his other fields. Now he has discovered that seven rows of potatoes for a length of 10 yards have been neatly dug up from a square in the centre of the field.
Because the potatoes have been stolen from the centre of the field did not notice a loss until he went to inspect the field to see if the potatoes were ready for lifting.
Over 200 potato plants were neatly dug up and about 6 cwts of potatoes stolen. The value to Mr. Ogley is about £3, but the public about £7
