Powder Magazine
Superintendent Blake reported that the contractors of the new railway in connection with the Cadeby colliery wanted a powder magazine in contiguity to their works.
The engineer had told him that permission was always given to store powder close the works, but he (the superintendent) did not know that such a thing could be allowed.
The Clerk (Mr. Rockett) asked what objection there was to place the magazine a certain distance away from the works, and it was remarked that there was only a limited extent of room; under athousand pounds of powder was needed.
It was decided that a suitable place must be found apart from the works.
