Present For a Cats Mistress

Some of my friends are very fond of noticing the habits of animals. The following anecdote for the accuracy which I can vouch, may interest and amuse them.

A lady has a cat of which she is very fond, and to which she attends with great care. The animal is fed every day just after the regular meals of the family. Several times she had brought dead mice to a mistress and with loud cries laid them at her feet.

But the climax was reached the other day, when pussy rushed up to where the lady was sitting, jumped on her lap and dropped thereupon a live mouse!
