Presentation At Denaby Main.
A pleasant company gathered together at the Denaby Main Institute on Saturday night, June 13, to present a testimonial to Mr. W. Chapman, late enginewright at Denaby Main Colliery who is leaving for another situation.
The testimonial, which was subscribed for by the officials and workmen of the colliery, took the form of a gold albert and pendant, to Mr. Chapman, and a ladies gold watch and chain to Mrs. Chapman.
The chair was occupied by Mr. J. Soar, who said that wherever they had asked for subscriptions they had been received, which testified very highly to the esteem in which the recipient had been held.
The presentation was made by Mr. A. Jackson, who was supported by Mr. Atkinson and Mr. Campbell. Mr. Chapman suitably replied, and the meeting ended very pleasantly, all wishing the recipient and his family every success in their new sphere.
