Mexborough and Swinton Times August 24, 1918
Special Services were held at the Primitive Chapel on Sunday.
The Reverend TJ Gladwin of York had been expected to preach, but he wrote expressing regret at being unable to do so on account of illness.
Mr Murphy formerly of Goldthorpe, now resident in Lancashire took its place. In the afternoon the “Men’s Own” from Mexborough gave a musical service, which was very successful.
The newly-appointed superintendent of the circuit lectured on Monday night before a good audience.
