A Prize Fight At Mexbro’
A squabble having arisen between two Denaby Main miners, at one of the Mexbro’ public houses, they adjourned to a piece of ground on the outskirts of the town, on Thursday night, and determined to have satisfaction by a pugilistic encounter.
The winner was to receive a sovereign.
The belligerents mauled one another a good deal, and it was unfortunate that the police did not get ” wind ” of the affair.
Only a few spectators were present to see there was ” fair play.”
