Public Award for Bravery

The Minister of Health has sanctioned the award of two guineas out of public funds to John Joseph Brookes (13), of Glasshouse Row, Conisborough, who on August 29th rescued James Williams (10), of Loversall Street, Denaby Main, from drowning in the Don.

The public presentation is to be made Wednesday’s Council meeting.

Application has also been made to the Royal Humane Society for an award.

Brookes is a member of The Gloops Club.
