Pushed The Wall Down.

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Monday 26 May 1919

Pushed The Wall Down.

Mr. F. Allen, a charge against six Denaby pit hands at Doncaster, on Saturday, of having committed wilful damage to a wall, said it showed what property owners had to put up with in providing ideal homes for miners.

The defendants were seen deliberately to push a boundary wall down, and it cost 30s. to repair the damage.

When one of them was remonstrated with, he said “If there was anything to pay there would some blood flying about-”

None of the defendants attended court. The case was adjourned, warrants to issue.
