Wednesday was a proud day for PC and Mrs A Bowan and their only daughter, Miss Margaret Bowman, of 1 Conan Road, when they witnessed the passing out parade of the 57th Entry of RAF apprentices at RAF station Holton (Bucks), for among the 500 apprentices who were taking part was Mr and Mrs Bowman’s only son, first-class airmen, John Bowman, who had thereby completed three years training as a fitter second engineer.

AC Bowman, was 19 last month. He was educated at Morley Place School and spent three years at the Schofield technical College, Mexborough, where he gained his entrance examination to the regular air force.

AC Bowman has been posted to South Wales.
