Railway Officials and Passengers.

On Saturday, at Doncaster, William Hy. Merrills, fish dealer, Doncaster, was summoned for using obscene language to the stationmaster at the Great Central Railway station at Conisbro , and he was lined 10s. and 18s. 6d- costs.

The defendant admitted the offence, but said he was most annoyed at his treatment. He had not got a ticket for his dog, but he offered the official a shilling while he was in the train.

He was asked to put the dog in the brake van, but while on the platform the stationmaster motioned for the driver to start, and the result was he (defendant) had to wait till the next train.
