Private Leonard Redfern (25), son of Mrs. T. Redfern and the late Mr. Redfern, of 6, Fullerton Avenue, Conanby has been serving in the Duke of Wellington´s Regiment for 18 months.
An old boy of Balby Street School, before joining up he worked at Yorkshire Main Colliery.
Private Redfern served in Belgium and was in the retreat from Dunkirk.
