Refusing to Quit

George Hudson, miner, Of Conisborough, was summoned far having been drunk and disorderly and refusing to quit the Alma Inn, Conisborough.

Arthur Moody, the landlord, said defendant came to his house on December 18th, about 8-15 p.m. He was supplied with beer, and sat down between two customers, and as he had a bunch of holly he was not a very pleasant kind of neighbour.

So after, when he he you are you in a came into the room, be found him out in the middle of the room door, and challenged anyone to take his holly. When ordered out be refused to go, and some difficulty was occasioned in getting him out of the house at closing time.

Herbert Wigglesworth said he was in the house at the time and saw this all defendant seize the landlord’s cap and swear he would take it away.

Charles William Moody, prosecutor’s son, said defendant had used bad language to him.

William Henry Green said Hudson left the room when ordered. He heard the landlord say he would send for a policeman.

John Sykes said Hudson had had his cap taken and that was why he did not leave as soon as asked.

Fined 30 shillings, including costs.
