Refusing to Quit at New Conisborough.

Joseph Wass, miner of New Conisborough, was summoned by William Isaac Gibbs for being disorderly and refusing to quit the Denaby Main Hotel on 22 April.

William Isaac Gibbs, landlord of the Denaby Main Hotel, said that 11:30 AM last Monday he heard some bad language being used in the dram shop.

He went in and saw the defendant, who was using the most beastly language. He requested him to go out, and he replied, “I shall go if I like.”

He had to threaten to put him out before he would go.

Another witness, corroborated.

Defendants wife appeared, and said her husband was very sorry; he had been in that neighbourhood five years, and that was his first offence.

Fined five shillings and the costs.
