At Doncaster, yesterday. Leslie R. Ross, a Denaby miner, pleaded guilty to obtaining two sums of 5s. and 25s. by means of false pretences, from the Guardians.

On 17th April he applied for relief under the loan scheme, and was given a voucher for 10s. He received vouchers for the same amount during the following eight weeks. Later he altered the ticket for 5th June from 10s. to 15s., and on the 12th June a ticket for 10s. to 35s., afterwards leaving the district.

Prisoner, who said he was willing to repay the money, was sent to gaol for one month.
