Resignation of Mrs. Kaye Of Old Denaby
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Conisboro’ Education Committee was held in the Council Schools on Thursday
Attendance.
The attendance for the month of December was reported to have been very low, owing to a severe epidemic of measles. The attendance officer reported, however that it had much improved since the Christmas holidays.
Inspector’s Report
A satisfactory report of the Old Denaby Church School was submitted from H.M. Inspector. It ran: “The head-mistress (Mrs. Kaye), who is about to leave, upon reacting the retiring age, has long conducted this school in kindly and maternal fashion, with good effect upon the life and character of the children. They are quiet, orderly, respectful and industrious. Their attendance is satisfactory on the whole and the work is carefully and neatly done. The assistant teacher should visit some good infants school and try to teach on less formal lines.”

It, was decided the Clerk writs to Mrs Kaye expressing the regret the committee that a long and satisfactory term of service was drawing to an close, and expressing the hope that she might be spared for many years to enjoy her well-earned retirement.
