Retirement.

Last Saturday Mr E. Wake of Sandhill, retired from Denaby colliery where he has been employed for the last 24 years as a wagon repairer.

His workmates have given him a “Translation of the Bible by Dr Moffat.”

In handing over the gift last Friday on behalf of the men in the wagon repair department Mr W. G. Crowcroft (Springsmith) paid tribute to Mr Wake as a good workman and friend, and he wished him a long life in which to enjoy a well interest. Mr R. Farnsworth paid his own tribute to a very friendly comradeship with Mr Wake, who thanked all who had contributed to the gift, and said he was leaving his many friends with regret.
