Rifle Shooting
Denaby Main And District Civilian Miniature Rifle Club.
On Thursday and Saturday last the first shoot took place for the presidents prize (a pair of field glasses, given by Mr W. H. Chambers, president of the club).
The competition is an aggregate of two shots at 50 and 100 yards, and the second issue will take place on July 4 and 6th; sighter and seven shots at each range. N. R. A. Standard targets, Morris tube ammunition.
The following were the highest scores made:
On Saturday last a team from Birley Carr rifle club paid an unexpected visit to Denaby, the home club not having anticipated the match until next month. Mr Witty, the captain of the club, however, got together a scratch team, which proved equal to the emergency, and secured a victory by the substantial margin of 62 points. The match consisted of sighter and seven shots at 50 and 100 yards, a men a-side, N.R. A. Targets,
