Robbery from the Person.

To-day, Doncaster, Thomas Mahon, Michael Daly and Peter Monahan, fillers, of Denaby, were charged with stealing the sum of 36s. from the person of Michael Lynsky at Denaby, on the l6th of Juno.

Prosecutor stated that at a quarter to six in the evening of the day mentioned he was with the prisoners. They commenced to push him about, and put his hand in his pocket and took out 36s.

Witness asked for his money back, but said Mahon said he had not got any. A man named Kay came up and told Mahon to give him his money back. Mahon then brought the money out of his pocket and handed it to Daly, who passed it on to the other prisoner. The money was handed back to Mohon, who then gave 26s of it back to witness.

He asked for the 10s., but Mahon refused to give it him

John Kay said he saw Mahon put his hand in Lynskey’s pocket.

Mahon was sent to prison for six weeks, and the other prisoners for a month each.
