Rough and Tumble
A “rough and tumble” in Doncaster Road, Denaby, had its sequel at Doncaster on Tuesday when three Denaby miners, Edward Knowles, Walter Knowles, and William Faulkener, were summoned for obstructing the highway by fighting.
Edward Knowles did not appear. P.c. Howarth said a crowd of almost a hundred spectators gathered round the men. Faulkener said he was only trying to stop the other two, and pleaded “not guilty.” The charge against him was dismissed.
Edward Knowles was ordered to pay 12s. and Walter Knowles 10s.
