Sagacity of a Newfoundland dog at Conisborough

Sagacity of a Newfoundland dog at Conisborough.

A few days ago, a youth named Ragain, aged 11 years, residing in Strafforth Terrace, New Conisborough, had the misfortune to fall into the river Don, near Conisborough glassworks, and not being able to swim, evidently would have drowned, and the water being very deep.

Fortunately a young Newfoundland dog, about 10 months old belonging to Mr Thomas Kelly, greengrocer, saw the lad struggling in the water, and sprang in and rescued him from his dangerous predicament.
