Saint Leger Week

last week been the Saint Leger week, a great many Conisbrough rights and holiday.

Nearly all the works had several days “playing” and the weather being fine, Doncaster received a large number from this place.

For the licence houses an extension of time for two hours on each race day, and I understand they were well patronised.

I cannot help making a comment on the way the extraordinary traffic of last week was conducted. Throughout our village 600 coaches, buses etc were counted, and I’m sure great credit is due to the police sergeant, his officers, the proprietors and hostellers at the hotels, for the strict attention to that essential thing, keeping the road clear on some occasions.
