Salvation Army
The Salvation Army musical programme on Saturday was arranged by bandmaster Riby and was mended by the band and songsters. Adjt. Mrs Fletcher presided.
On Sunday, adjutant and Mrs Fletcher held farewell services – they left Denaby Main yesterday morning for Barford, South Wales which will be their headquarters for the next year. They have been very popular during their stay in Denaby Main and have done much towards brightening and uplifting the standard of the corps. They are both good musicians and have rendered good service on the musical side of the corps, as well as in other directions. They will be missed for the good work.
The new officers for Denaby Main are Adjutant Birch, who comes from Alton, Hants, and Lieut. Cosgrove, from Enfield, London. These two ladies were welcomed at the evening meeting yesterday.
The Home League at the Salvation Army was presided over by Mrs Riby on Monday. In the evening the members of the Epworth Hall woman’s bright hour gave the service of song “Her Bounty” in the citadel. Mrs, Dolan, of Goldthorpe was the reader, and Mrs Linley, of Denaby, the soloist. Mrs Marshall conducted and Miss Coles was the pianist. Pastor A. E. Give a presided and Pastor Dolan was also in attendance.
