James and John Pedley, miners, William Pedley and Michael Commons, fillers New Conisbro’, were summoned for having caused an affray on the 18th inst.
Police Sgt Brown said the defendant* were fighting in the means of a crowd of about 100 persons.
John Pedley’s face had been much injured, and William had been bitten at the back of the neck.
John Pedley said never struck a blow; he went to protect his son.
Casey said was first »truck, and only acted in self defence.
Each defendant had pay the costs.
