School Board – Primitive Methodist Charges and School Holidays

The usual meeting of this board was held in the board room Conisborough last night, Mr Kilner in the chair and other members present Messrs Greaves, Walker and Wigfall.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

The question arose as to the charge to be made to the Primitive Methodists who had use of the school room on two occasions.

The usual charge was 15s per night. After a short discussion it was resolved that they pay 10s 6d for each night they had used it with the with the understanding that in the future there will be no abatement from the 15s the usual fixed price sometimes ago.

The clerk said he had written to the girls and boys school to be made into one mixed department but had not yet received a reply.

It was resolved on the notion of Mr Greaves that the school holidays commenced on the 25th of august for one month.

A cheque for £16 was signed for payment of school accounts for the month and the board adjourned
