Parties are the standing order for pupils in every school at the end of term, but Tuesday’s get-together at Conisbrough Northcliffe High School will be a party with a difference it will be the teachers who are celebrating, by courtesy of the School Governors, who are organizing and paying for a small celebration to say “Thank You” for the year’s work.

When the school returns from the Whitsuntide holidays on Tuesday the staff some 40 of them—will be staying behind afterwards to attend a coffee evening, the Governors’ way of showing their gratitude for the work of the Teachers throughout the year.

Said Coun. B. Short, Chairman of the Governors, “Her Majesty’s inspector has been to the school in this academic year. and we he received his report on the school two Months has ago was a very comprehensive report, and all the way through the work of the staff was the subject of praise

Very Pleased

“This has pleased us very much, and we thought we ought to do something to show our appreciation of the splendid work the staff has done. There isn’t really much we can do, but we thought a coffee evening or something of that nature would be ideal. It is not an elaborate celebration.
