Selling Drink to Children.

A short time ago application was to the Bench Doncaster for extension for the Denaby Main Hotel, owned by the Denaby Main Company, and was refused on the ground of children having been served with beer.

Mr Hickmot on Saturday told the magistrates that Mr Blake had been asked to furnish particulars of the cases referred to, but had only given two dates. Every inquiry had been made, but they had failed to discover the cases.

It appeared there had been a custom of children asking adults to get them drink, and then the adults passing the liquor to the children. The company, however, had given notice to the responsible party that any repetition of this would be followed by dismissal.
