A friendly game of cricket between the above two clubs was contested on the ground of the former club, on Saturday last; terminating in a victory for the visitors. The small score of the home team testify to the destructiveness of the bowling of Messrs Marshall and Briggs, the former being credited with six, the latter four wickets.

Afriendly game of cricket was played at Maltby, on Monday last, between the above clubs and resulted in an easy victory for the visitors. The bowling of Marshall was very destructive and contributed largely towards the success of his party. Score:

Hexthorpe Brass Works v Conisboro´
This match was played on Saturday, on the Doncaster race common, and resulted in a victory for Conisboro, by seven runs and three wickets to fall owing to the good bowling of Marshall and Briggs, the former securing three wickets in four balls.

Mexborough Juveniles v Denaby Juveniles
This match was played at Mexborough on Saturday last. The batting of F Hopson for Denaby, was very good, his 19, being composed of brilliant play. The bowling of S Hopson for Denaby, was very good, having bowled two wickets in the first over for no runs and later on secured two more wickets for four runs, thus clean bowling four wickets for four runs.
A dispute arose over time of drawing the stumps in this match, but on time being called at six o’clock, the game was drawn greatly in favour of the Denaby juveniles, who are very dissatisfied with the results. Proper agreements should be made before commencing to play.

Conisbrough v Mexborough
This interesting match was played at Conisbrough on Saturday last, and after a closely played game resulted in a victory for the visitors by three runs only, for Conisbrough, the respected veteran player failed to score. Laughtton and Ward, however, raised the largest numbers.
We should suggest that the younger bowlers be tried much oftener as they appear to be in good form and effective.
