Serious Accident

On Wednesday morning week a serious accident, before Mr W William H Coggins, aged 60 years, of 3 Station Road.

The unfortunate man was employed at Cadeby pit top.

At the time of the accident a gale of wind and sleet seems to have prevented the injured man from noticing the approach of a locomotive engine with wagons attached.

He was knocked down, and his left foot was severed, and further injuries were inflicted to his head and shoulders.

He was conveyed in the company’s ambulance man to the Fullerton Hospital where he received medical attention.

The latest report states that the injured man is progressing favourably.
