Seven Denaby Attendants

Six bridesmaids and a pageboy attended Miss Doris Gill, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Leonard Gill, 74, Doncaster Road, Denaby, at her marriage in Denaby Parish Church to Mr. James William Noble, son of Mr and Mrs. Christopher Noble. 21 Balby Street, Denaby.

The Rev A. V. Roebuck officiated and Mr. Percy Webb was organist.

The bride, given away by her brother-in-law. Mr. Fred Harper, wore a classically cut gown of white satin brocade with a veil and wreath and carried carnations. The brides maids, wearing mauve, blue, pink, old gold and pale blue taffeta with matching headdresses, were Misses Annie Turner, Jean Mitchell, Mary Noble, Molly Gill, Avril Walton and Patricia Ardron. They carried ivory-backed prayer books and baskets of anemones and received pearls as gifts from the groom. A small pageboy was Ernest Gill.

Best man was Mr. Ronald Noble and Mr Charles Parker was groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a dove grey two-piece with toning accessories, and the bridegroom’s wore a royal blue ensemble with navy accessories.

Mrs D. Mitchell and Mrs. J. Austin, matrons of honour, wore pale green taffeta, Misses Margaret

Dorothy Bailey wore rose pink taffeta. Miss L. Madden and Miss L M. Robinson wore peach satin. Mts. Shirley Haywood and Miss Aileen Bailey blue floral dresses and Glenda Mitchell (train bearer) had a white satin dress. They all had toning head-dresses and muffs. Mr Wilfred Evans was best man and Mr George Bailey groomsman. The reception was in Denaby Church Hall.

The bridegroom’s mother wore a powder blue dress with black coat and hat to tone. The bride received a canteen of cutlery from her colleagues at the G.E.C.
