Shocking State of Depravity
At the West Riding Police Court, on Tuesday, Thomas Wilson, and his two daughters, Mary Jane aged 16, and Elizabeth, aged 9, were charged with wandering abroad without any visible means of subsistence.
The evidence of the policeman was to the effect that on Monday night, about 12 o’clock, they went to a cabin on Conisborough Cliffs, and there found the three-persons.
The two girls were in a perfectly nude state, and were laid asleep on the floor. The male prisoner had been laid amongst them.
He stated that he had been engaged setting potatoes for the person who owned the cabin and had got permission to stay there.
Prisoners were discharged on promising to leave the district.
