15- Years – Old Brian Gough, of 104, Old Road, Conisbrough, has joined Sheffield United as an apprentice professional.

Brian, who leaves Conisbrough Northcliffe School to-day (Fri-day) signed his forms after an interview with Manager John Harris, and will start training with the team on Monday. Brian has been approached by several other prominent League clubs but has always held a preference for the Sheffield side.

He has been a representative of the Don and Dearne senior side years, and a member of the school’s first team.

A keen all-round sportsman, Brian won the Victor Ludorum award at his school’s recent sports day
