Skating Frost and Sunshine
Pastures Popular Venue

As foreshadowed on Saturday, another severe frost found the ice in fine condition yesterday, and skating was general at Mexborough, Swinton, Adwick, Bolton-on-Dearne, and around.

The Pastures, at Mexborough, about ten minutes’ walk from the tram terminus, and midway between Mexborough and Conisborough stations, proved a most popular venue, about 2,000 people enjoying good skating over fine-conditioned ice.

The Pastures have the additional advantage of being reasonably safe from danger, the frozen water extending over a wide area.

The prospects last night were sufficiently promising to indicate a continuance of good skating facilities in the Mexborough district.
