Missing In Malaya
Official intimation was received from the War Office on Monday by Mrs. E. Bates, 12, Ellershaw Lane, Conisbrough, that her husband, Gnr. Thomas Alfred Bates, who was serving in Malaya, when Singapore capitulated has been posted missing.
Gnr. Bates, who joined up nearly two years ago, has been serving abroad since November with the Royal Artillery.
