Driver P Cusack 5 Strafforth Terrace, Denaby has arrived home from Burma.

Joining the Army in September 1940 he went overseas in March 1941, landing in Egypt and while there his unit of the Royal Corps Signal had the task of laying important communications.

The unit did not see any action until the Syrian campaign, and later from Syria across Trans Jordan, arriving in Baghdad in September 1941.

While stationed in India his unit was visited by Lord Louis Mountbatten. While stationed there he met several local lads, including one called Shaw, of Balby Street, Denaby.

Before joining the Forces, driver Cusack was steward at St Albans Club, and his wife has been carrying on the duties.
