Brother and Sister Serving

Mr. and Mrs. Gaskell, of 7, Braithwell Street, Denaby Main, have a son and daughter serving with the forces.

Gunner John Gaskell enlisted in January, 1940, in the Royal Artillery and embarked for service abroad last year. At present he is with the Middle East Forces and in his last letter home said he was fit and well. He was a member of the Parish Church Choir as a boy and then for some time he had work away from home, but later was employed at the Denaby Main Hotel.

Miss Elizabeth Gaskell was in domestic service at Leeds, but answered the call a short time ago and is now in the A.T.S. working in the officer’s mess and is happy in her work. Their father served throughout the Great War.
