Met Mr. Churchill
Writing home to his wife at 24, West Street, Conisbrough, L/Bdr. A. Hilton, R.A., who has been serving with the First Army since the beginning of the year, states he is proud to have taken part in the Tunisian victory.
His great moment came when he figured in the Victory Parade and also met Mr. Churchill on his recent visit.
L/Bdr. Hilton was called up in December, 1939. He was a keen sportsman, being a junior footballer of repute, and on several occasions he kept goal for Denaby United in 1938-39 season. His parents reside in Denaby, and in June, 1942, he married Miss Betty Oakley, of Conisbrough.
