Died In Italy.
Mrs. E. Mills, of 142, Doncaster Road, Denaby Main, has received news from a military hospital that her grandson. (whom she brought up). Gunner Albert Oswald Mills of the L.A.A.R.A. had died on October 25th. 1942, while a prisoner of war in Italy.
Gunner Mills was employed on the surface at Denaby, Colliery. He was a member of the local Territorials, and was called up for service at the outbreak of war. He was a member of the Parish Church, where at one time he served in the choir and was also one of the early members of the Church Lads’ Brigade in Denaby Main.
He married Miss Birkinshaw, of Mexborough, shortly before he went abroad. She is on war work. Gunner Mills was 27.
