Message from Thailand

Gunner J. P. Pears, son of Mrs. Pears, of 26, Annerley Street, Denaby Main, has been reported missing for two years and now his sister, Mrs. Woodward, of Conisbrough has received a postcard from him asking her to let all “at home” know that he is a prisoner of war in the hands of the Japanese in No. 1 POW Camp, Thailand.

Gunner Pears joined the Army about five years ago; he also has a brother, Joseph Pears, who is a prisoner of war in Germany.
